The event is set to bring some much-needed tourism to the region which has been devastated by droughts and bushfires over the last 12 months.
Speaking to Sky News Mayor of Parkes Ken Keith said the festival had caught the attention of many despite recent fires. "Although we have had cancellations due to the fires we have also had other people picking up on that, they're looking for alternative things to do and the Parkes Elvis Festival has caught their attention," he said.
