Blocked from entering Australia due to coronavirus, a mother is losing hope of saying goodbye to her only son who is on life support in a Melbourne hospital

, is losing hope of being able to see her only son before doctors in Melbourne turn off his life support.

Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt warned the ban would almost certainly be extended beyond February 15, and Jeff, a close friend of Mr Li , who is known as "Link" in Australia, says "we have no solutions to help her now"."Link's mother is a labourer in China, she had no money to apply for a visa or get flight tickets.

"[Mr Li] is in a critical condition on life support in the intensive care unit. It is therefore important that his family are present at his bedside during this difficult time," it read. "They asked her, 'would you like to donate Link's organs to 10 people?'. His mother said 'yes, if it can help more people, I can accept it'. It was a nice gesture," Jeff explained.

Too sad. May his mother find comfort somehow, RIP Xiao

HaroldHodson2 Awwwwww. So sad. Let's make a special case exemption for her. And her. And him. And ....

Your know what else is sad, thousands of Australian mother's and children getting infected with this virus

Michael Fowler, go to Wuhan China and investigate. Then people might trust what you preach. Otherwise, you risk being just another bleeding heart, virtue signalling, fake reporter.

oh well its what best for our country

RichardTuffin Let her in now... compassion is the only thing we have left... Democracy, freedom, justice, truth is taken away already damn LNP

As long as she stays with one of the SMH journalist while shes here I don't see a problem.

Make one exception then there’s an exception for everyone. Can she stay at your house while she’s here? Will you pay the bill for anyone who she may infect? Happy to take on the responsibility for anyone who may die due to them making an exception?

The kids brain dead - keep her out, or stick her in quarantine like everyone else

It’s tragic and heartbreaking, but the thing is if you let one through, the mainland chinese will be on to it and you’ll have a dozen cases like this tomorrow.

Give her a mask n let her in!!!!

One would expect an exception on compassionate grounds... except this government has not one iota of compassion for anyone but their donors and mates...

Heartbreaking!

Monstrous

This is what happens when racist hysteria is peddled by stupid media

This is so incredibly sad 😔

We were letting people into Australia, when in my ' public health ' brain, we shouldn't have been. Denying this mother now is cruel. Seems this is becoming the norm. michaelfowler08 What part of ‘quarantine’ don’t you understand?

China’s travel 'restrictions' could prevent an Australian permanent resident’s Wuhan evacuationChinese-Australian Jay Chen is calling on the Chinese government to ease it’s travel restrictions to allow his wife to be evacuated from Wuhan, the city at the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak Maybe he can pop back. Dude, your wife’s life is at high risk and you both debate over keeping Chinese citizenship. Seriously? The problem is not the virus here. The problem is you and your wife’s inability to make a life saving decision.
