Undersecretary for Administration Alain Pascua said in an interview that the agency is currently investigating at least four public school teachers and one public school district supervisor in Dipolog City for possibly violating the travel restrictions and limitations set by DepEd.
“If these four teachers or DepEd employees have not shown any approved travel order, then they might be liable [for] sanctions because every government employee or every teacher employed by DepEd, whether they go for official or personal visit abroad, they need to have approved travel authority,” Pascua said.Based on the summary of referred suspected cases as cited in its COVID-19 Situational Report as of March 1, DepEd is monitoring 12 learners and 10 personnel for possible COVID-19.
One personnel in Carcar is also on self-quarantine and is currently being monitored by the City Health Office despite showing “no signs and symptoms” of COVID-19. Earlier, DepEd set travel limitations and restrictions following the presidential directive on the COVID-10, where all travels, whether official and personal, to the People’s Republic of China and its special administrative regions are temporarily banned.
