PRETORIA - The department of consular affairs in the United States has via Twitter indicated that it is organising repatriation flights for its citizens who are having trouble leaving Ghana because of travel restrictions implemented to fight the Covid-19 outbreak.

Canada also announced after the US that it would send three planes to Peru to repatriate citizens left stranded in the country. In a tweet on Monday, the Canadian foreign affairs minister François-Philippe Champagne said the government has secured authorisation to operate three flights “this week”. According to a Canadian publication, Global News, the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday said there would also be another two flights to repatriate citizens from Morocco in “in the coming days”.
