The agreement came after days of often intense haggling and mounting pressure and still needs to be finalised in detailed legislative language.The unprecedented economic rescue package would give direct payments to most Americans, expand unemployment benefits and provide a $US367 billion program for small businesses to keep making payroll while workers are forced to stay home.

I think the government are being over generous......ones living at home with parents don't need two lots of Newstart payments per fortnight because of losing their job till things get back to normal, maybe a bit more for families and certainly single mothers.
