Premier Palaszczuk's decision to announce the closure of the border between NSW and Queensland via twitter “really missed the mark,” according to Queensland Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington. From 12:00am on Thursday, interstate travel across the border between NSW and Queensland will be shut down.
Ms Frecklington said “it’s not necessarily about the decision, it’s about what is being communicated to the people on the border”. “The Premier of Queensland gave this announcement via Twitter,” she told Sky News host Paul Murray. “Twitter is not the real world” and the announcement “lead to confusion” among those who would be impacted. “At a time when we need clear, concise and compassionate leadership, I think the Premier of Queensland really missed the mark,” Ms Frecklington said.
