Italy will reopen to tourists from early June and scrap a 14-day mandatory quarantine period, the government said Saturday, as it quickened the country's exit from the coronavirus lockdown.
Although Italy never formally closed its borders, and has allowed people to cross back and forth for work or health reasons, it banned movement for tourism and imposed a two-week isolation period for new arrivals. The peak of Italy's contagion passed at the end of March, but with officials warning a second wave cannot be ruled out, Mr Conte had been reluctant to lift the lockdown quickly.
Church masses will begin again, but the faithful will have to follow social distancing rules and holy water fonts will be empty. Italy's mosques will also reopen.
Until they get a second wave?
Ooh I've never been to Italy. Could get lots of bargains and a dose of Covid thrown in for free. Yay.... :P
It is just a joke
What could possibly go wrong?
I wouldn’t eat pizza at the moment let alone go to Italy

What are they thinking? How truly awful and a terrible outcome for virus ravaged Italy.
BIG mistake of you ask me.
So much uninformed Aussie arrogance coming through on the comments.

I’m not entirely sure that will be a good thing. Coronavirus is not gone yet...and may not be for some time.
Anyone else think this might be a risky strategy?
Opening up within between virus free areas is fine, but opening up borders is a recipe for disaster at this time and especially so when without quarantine. RaiNews repubblica
Expect high infection rates and another wave of deaths.
Covidiots. All policies can only be tested with blood. Stupid idea. Way too early.
Nuts.
No quarantine? Mamma mia... 🤦🏼♂️
Whaaat? They were the hardest hit in Europe. Are they nuts?
Don't think many people will go just yet...
So don’t go to Italy folks, it’s not safe
Scrapping the 14 day quarantine for tourists seems... Reckless? It'd make me very worried if they did that here...
