Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo M. Año on Sunday explained that certain protocols are in place for the travel from one area to other local government units (LGU) of stranded groups of individuals.

He said that such cases are governed under the “Self Task Group or repatriation for returning Filipino workers and locally stranded individuals.”Año in an interview over GMA News, said the concerned individual should inform the LGU where one is stranded of his intention to return to his hometown in another LGU.

He said the regional task forces will then contact the self task group where the scheduled flight or passenger ship travel will be set. The DILG chief noted that it is easier if individuals are going to their home provinces since this will only involve a LGU to LGU coordination.
