Britain should set up 'travel bubbles' with low-risk countries to allow the movement of people, instead of bringing in new coronavirus quarantine rules when flights restart, according to Heathrow Airport.

LONDON - Britain should set up “travel bubbles” with low-risk countries to allow the movement of people, instead of bringing in new coronavirus quarantine rules when flights restart, according to Heathrow Airport.

British government ministers have said they plan a 14-day quarantine for most people arriving in the country in the coming weeks to try to prevent a second peak of the pandemic.Heathrow Airport, which before the novel coronavirus grounded planes was the busiest in Europe, said it had been working with the UK Department for Transport on proposals to allow some unrestricted travel.

“We should indeed consider further improvements, for example things like air bridges enabling people from other countries who have themselves achieved lower levels of coronavirus infection to come to the country,” he said. As part of its plans to ensure international travel can restart safely, Heathrow also said it would this week start trialling thermal screening in immigration as well as UV sanitation on trays used at security gates.

Quarantined time here is 14 days

The UK is not a 'low risk country' so how the hell do they think they would qualify for such a 'bubble'?

I suggest we don't fly anymore and try to mitigate climate change. You think this coronavirus is bad? Climate change will be infinitely worse.

Business people unite! Let's use technology for our meetings as much as possible. We now know it works! Forget about busy airports with crappy overpriced food and crowded zero leg-room sickness spreading airplanes. Not to mention the delays and polution. Done with it!

Yea, but low-risk countries don't want British travelers.

What ‘safe’ country would be silly enough to agree to allow unquarantuned travel from the UK? 😂

Virus carriers..heathrow and others no one talks about air filtering systems of planes during the flights ..do they have special filters to block viruses or just ordinary filters as used before...

Bubbles typically burst correct?

NOT WORKING REALISTICALLY AT HEATHROW GREED CO.

Do they consider the UK to be a low risk country? So the plan is to connect a high risk country, UK, with a low risk country. Sounds like sarcasm. But will those countries see us as low risk?
