The Department of Tourism (DOT) welcomes the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases’ (IATF-EID) approval of the trade and industry department’s recommendation to allow the partial dine-in operations of restaurants in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ).

A restaurant crew cleans the chairs with acrylic divider as preparation for dine-in transactions tomorrow inside a fast food-chain in Quezon City on Sunday. On June 15, the IATF will allow dine-in transactions inside restaurants as part of the new normal.

Tourism chief Berna Romulo-Puyat reminded restaurants inside hotels and other accommodation establishments that they may operate starting Monday, June 15, provided that they will strictly observe the 30 percent seating capacity limit for dine-in customers, on top of the health and safety protocols earlier released by the DOT.

Puyat earlier said that erring establishments will face penalties once the guidelines have been violated.
