Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern had warned that new cases may come up in the future as New Zealanders return home, and some others were allowed in under special conditions. Both women arrived in New Zealand on June 7 from the UK, via Doha and Brisbane and were in an isolation facility in Auckland. They were given special permission to leave the facility to visit the dying parent in Wellington. Both are self isolating now, Ashley Bloomfield said.
New Zealand’s 5 million people emerged from the pandemic while big economies such as Brazil, Britain, India and the United States continue to grapple with spread of the virus.

Reuters, how is an imported 2 cases a “setback”? It’s already bloody impressive they brought it down to zero domestically during the lockdown. Unless a country closes its borders indefinitely until a vaccine is created, its impossible to eradicate its presence entirely for long.
Fix the headline! How is it possible you don’t know that many don’t read the articles, just the headlines. They then form an opinion that lacks facts and repeat the same half truths through comments, tweets & retweets! Facts are morally invaluable right now. Need more not less!

Saw that coming. This thing is here to stay we might as well learn to live with it.
It was 2 people coming in from the UK for a funeral. Hard to prevent that without shutting borders completely. NZ has done a great job.....the rest of the world hasn’t.
Anyone whose goal is zero cases of zero deaths obviously has an agenda. Will never be done.
