Last week, United said they will require passengers to fill out a preflight health checklist during check-in.
United's"Ready to Fly'' checklist asks passengers to confirm, among other things, that they have not had COVID-19-related symptoms in the past 14 days; been diagnosed with the virus in the past 21 days; or had close contact with someone who has COVID-19 in the past 14 days. And United isn't the only airline getting more serious about its requirement: American now says it"may also deny future travel for customers who refuse to wear a face covering," according to a"U.S. airlines are very serious about requiring face coverings on their flights. Carriers are stepping up enforcement of face coverings and implementing substantial consequences for those who do not comply with the rules," said Airlines for America President and CEO Nicholas E.
American cited the trade group in its news release:"American made this change after working in conjunction with Airlines for America on an industrywide response."
Interesting.
Yet UnitedAirlines is booking people in the middle seat. Kind of hypricritical don’t you think?
What a bunch of crap. They are discriminating, plain & simple!
As well they should. Plane cabins were giant petri dishes and incubators b4 COVID19. Now they are germ warfare weapons waiting to detonate
THANK YOU!!!! UnitedAirlines steps up! Everyone on a plane needs to WearADamnMask Delta JetBlue AlaskaAir AmericanAirlines FAANews
Why are we acting like kids with this policy. Wear the mask if you want to travel. Stay home if you don't.
Good.
Good! Same as the 'No shirt, No shoes, No service' policy. Everyone should mandate the wearing of masks in the list. No shirt No shoes No mask No service
Will they deny boarding on that flight if they refuse?
Our flight better look like this, with an empty seat in the middle 😆 CraigSmardan
There's a public mask in the overhead compartment.
As they should
“Internal travel”
Excellent decision by American Airlines to place passengers who refuse to comply with its mask requirement to be placed on an internal travel restriction list. This policy should be adapted by all airlines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Professor Isagholian
Unless this is actually enforced, it's useless.
In a close public setting people should have a bare minimum of respect. Driving is always an option.
Something not quite right about this.
Good! They need to actually follow through. American air needs to follow their lead
Perfection, good for them. 👊 Now let’s start making spitting on a person aggravated assault with upgrade to manslaughter if the attacked person dies from virus.
TheFireTracker2 Good
Oh come on!
what if we are flying to a protest?
This should not just stop at ’United’, all airlines (and other industries)should follow suit. Enough with ignorant people putting others lives in danger!
What about the people that suffer from adverse medical effects from wearing the masks? Are they prisoners now? What about the CO2 that that is supposed to be expelled during normal breathing?
Good for them. Any company, including airlines, should set rules for protecting a) their employees and b) their customers, and if a-holes who claim someone is violating their rights just for not wearing a damn mask - screw 'em. Glad to see united having a pair.
Imagine wearing a mask for 10+ Hrs straight...
