OTTAWA — Watching the farms and highways of Ontario out of the oval windows of an Airbus A320, it’s easy to forget for a moment how COVID-19 has so thoroughly changed familiar routines.
A flight attendant wears personal protective equipment as they walk through the back part of a near empty plane from Calgary which landed in Vancouver on June 9. The anticipatory energy normally buzzing at a gate ahead of a flight has morphed into an eerie sense that what’s at the end of the ramp isn’t a modern jet but a spaceship beaming people to an unknown world.
That has not been my experiences at all. With reduced of flights there are many people on board. Middle seats are empty but all the others are full.

Ensure the tray table is up and your mask on: air travel in the era of COVID-19With passenger air traffic nearly non-existent, boarding announcements in airports are few and far between. Screw your mask!! You should not be flying until the pandemic is gone. You just put everyone in danger. That is how the virus got everywhere. Only passengers waiting to board an airplane needed to hear or be reminded of it.
