Patrick Barraclough, the venue manager of Abacus restaurant in Melbourne says “it’s very frustrating” customer limits have been reimposed, but necessary as Victoria sees a spike in cases.

“At the same time we think of the broader picture of safety for Victorians,” Mr Barraclough told Sky News. “So we will be abiding by these rules very strictly.

” Restrictions were supposed to be eased on Monday, allowing up to 50 people in venues, but has been retracted after a spike in cases. The state’s authorities have advised against travel to and from six local government areas for non essential reasons. Hume, Casey, Cardinia, Morebank, Brimbank and Darebin are the places listed to avoid.
