FAMILIES wanting a holiday in the UK this year have been left overjoyed following the news of hotels and campsites reopening from July 4.
Booking websites have reported huge spikes in bookings across England since the announcement earlier this week.Holiday bookings are being taken once every 11 seconds in the UK following the lockdown restriction announcementPrime Minister Boris Johnson said on Tuesday: "From July 4, people will be free to stay overnight in contained accommodation, including hotels, B&Bs, including campsites, as long as shared facilities are kept clean.
He added that July and August bookings were most popular, but many are also looking for October and September.Camping and caravan holidays are expected to be popular this summerCool Camping's founder Jonathon Knight said bookings were up 750 per cent compared to last year, with tourist destinations Cornwall and Devon high on the list.
He added: "We can see a lot of bookings in destinations you would expect like Devon, Cornwall and The Lakes but it is also encouraging to see people are booking some of those lesser explored rural idles like Herefordshire, Shropshire, Yorkshire and Wiltshire."Two nights in Rutland on July 4 -
