✈️'Naples is as various as Rome, as laden with treasure as Florence, as deeply mysterious as Genoa and as glamorous as Milan,' writes Griff Rhys Jones

I know where I should be now. Not stuck to this sofa but in Naples. For the past three years Mrs Jones and I have attended an event there around now. For reasons that we are all bored with hearing about, it has been cancelled. But I will return.

Naples is dirty, rubbish strewn streets and graffiti everywhere. Impossible to sit outside at a bar or restaurant in the once beautiful Spanish Quarter- two way traffic in the narrow streets, high levels of pollution. Not recommended.

Try talking up Britain's fabulous cities before Italy's.

Agree. Particularly when Hotel Parker's is your base. During long stays in Rome, I enjoyed breaking away to Naples, where I discovered they drink wine from heavy little glasses of the sort one used to find in restos on Court St, Brooklyn DougHenwood

From the documentaries I've seen it's a shit hole

Hey I don't speak Italian at all. Would I have troubles while traveling in Italy?
