PETALING JAYA: Homestay operators can use their own assets and resources to try to keep down costs in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, says Deputy Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.

The Keningau MP said that in addition to the government initiatives in place, homestay operators can make use of the resources they have in order to endure the dampened economic climate.

“This also includes bringing tourists to recreational spots nearby, such as waterfalls or going trekking, and providing meals that are made with local products. He was responding to a question by Datuk Mohd Nizar Zakaria about how the government is helping homestay operators keep costs low during Oral Question Time on Tuesday .
