UK extends Spain non-essential travel advice to holiday islands

Thousands more holidays are set to be cancelled after the UK government’s recommendation against all but essential travel to mainland Spain was extended to include the Canary and Balearic islands.

Is this a government scheme to keep people in the UK and holidaying here too. The mechanism of fear is now firmly etched into people’s minds. You can go on holiday but you may have to quarantine for two weeks and not get paid. So best to stay in the UK and spend your money here.
