Ryanair announce two new Greek routes amid uncertainty over travel

Low-cost airline Ryanair has announced that it is launching two new routes from Dublin Airport to Greece, starting from 17 August.

Ryanair, who have been fiercely critical of the government's travel restrictions , issued a statement today announcing the new flights to Corfu and Mykonos. Greece is on Ireland's green list and is therefore not subject to any restrictions, though the official advice of the National Public Health Emergency Team is to avoid non-essential travel. Eimear Ryan of Ryanair said that the new routes were announced as a result of"popular demand."

The new routes will operate twice weekly from Dublin to Corfu and Mykonos while Dublin to Chania will now operate four times a week. Yesterday, the NPHET reported that 9% of all cases announced in the last two weeks were travel-related.
