Regional Victoria has entered step three of its coronavirus reopening plan, after recording a consistent drop in case numbers.
Under the eased restrictions, all retail stores will open and beauty services can resume provided a face covering is worn. Residents can gather in groups of ten outdoors and restaurants can dine ten people inside, and 50 people outside. Police have warned that Melbourne residents who try to enter regional Victoria to enjoy the eased restrictions face fines of up to $5,000.
The much-welcome relaxation is possible because regional Victoria is averaging less than five new cases of the virus daily.
Thanks Victoria for doing the hard yards to protect Australia. As for the rest of us not in Victoria, don't whinge about any extra taxpayer $$ going to Victoria, because they took the $$ hit to spare the rest of us from COVID.!
