THE Bureau of Immigration has warned international travelers against using fake endorsements from the Department of Foreign Affairs to circumvent existing restrictions imposed by the government to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 .Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente on Friday also warned travel and manning agencies against facilitating the use of fake endorsements or risk cancellation of their accreditation with the bureau.
It can be recalled that in March, the DFA suspended the issuance of visas but may exempt those covered on “very meritorious or humanitarian grounds.” According to Morente, both the DFA and the BI suspended the processing of all applications of the shipping agency, with the BI moving to blacklist the company from transacting with the bureau.
