AMPANG: Roadblocks in Selangor will be mainly at toll plazas and state borders from the second day of the conditional movement control order (MCO), says Comm Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin.

The Selangor police chief said this was needed as police discovered that there were many trying to leave the state without valid reasons."There were many who attempted to cross districts and states without valid or urgent reasons," he told a press conference after witnessing the handing over of the Ampang Jaya OCPD post on Thursday .Three people were arrested while police also issued 118 compounds for violating the conditional MCO on Wednesday , he added.

"We hope the public can remain patient as our ultimate aim is to stop the spread of Covid-19," he said. Meanwhile, on the handing over, Comm Noor Azam said he was confident that ACP Mohamad Farouk will be able to lead the district police to new heights."His background at JIPS will certainly be an asset towards elevating the integrity of Ampang Jaya personnel and officers," he said.
