The news site Axios reported that one of the Harris aides who tested positive was communications director Liz Allen. The other was a non-campaign staff flight crew member.
Neither of the people who tested positive have had contact with Biden, Harris, or other staff members since being diagnosed or within 48 hours before the positive test reports, Biden campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon said in a statement to CNN. Both individuals went to personal, non-campaign events in the past week. Biden-Harris campaign protocols require employees be tested for coronavirus after such events, before they’re allowed to rejoin the campaign, O’Malley Dillon said.
She said Harris has taken two lab-reviewed coronavirus tests since Oct. 8, including one Wednesday, and was negative. Biden’s last announced coronavirus test was Tuesday. It, too, was negative, the AP said.CNN.com: “Biden campaign halts Kamala Harris' travel after two people in campaign's orbit test positive for coronavirus.”Axios.com: “Harris pauses campaign travel after aide tests positive for coronavirus.
