Premier Gladys Berejkilian said it is possible the state will put more restrictions in place if the cluster cannot be controlled.Victoria has closed its border to anyone from New South Wales and the Central Coast, Premier Daniel Andrews announced this afternoon.Starting from 11.59pm tonight, the Greater Sydney area and the Central Coast will join the Northern Beaches as a designated 'red zone', meaning they are not permitted to enter.

The road border with NSW will become a hard border with police checkpoints, and the permit system is being reintroduced.South Australian premier Steven Marshall announced new border restrictions for NSW residents this afternoon, immediately after NSW Health revealed 30 new local cases had been detected in Sydney.

Arrivals from NSW without a legitimate exemption could now well be turned back at the border or the airport, Mr McGowan said.Those who arrived before midnight will be quarantined for 14 days. Anybody who has been in NSW since December 11 and has not since stayed 14 days in a low-risk or very-low-risk jurisdiction will also be barred from the state.Exemptions are available for government officials, Commonwealth MPs, active military personnel, and people carrying out crucial transport.
