Testing clinics have conducted 708 tests in the last reporting period and authorities have urged people to "be patient" amid the increased demand for testing. "I know that the last 48 hours have been a difficult and overwhelming time for many Canberrans. After such a challenging year, it will be particularly hard for many people not to see friends and family over Christmas," Health Minister Chris Steel said.
Mr Steel said the travel restrictions were a "tough but necessary response" to the NSW outbreak and urged anyone from Greater Sydney, Central Coast or Wollongong to check the health and travel advice for updates.
