The El Nido police in Palawan province will file charges against two female tourists from Metro Manila for submitting swab test results with falsified dates of specimen collection early this week, the Department of Tourism said Saturday.
"The falsification was confirmed by verifying the QR code through the Lords Medical and Industrial Clinic which administered the test," the department said in a statement. The visitors who were held by Municipal Health Officers at the Lio Airport on Feb. 16. violated the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act, which prohibits"tampering of records or intentionally providing misinformation," the DOT added.Last month, six tourists from Manila were also caught faking COVID-19 test results to enter Boracay. The DOT said it filed a case against them for falsification of public documents.
