BRITS are scrambling to book up staycations amid fears travelling abroad will be impossible this summer.
Simply Sea Views, an agency with more than 8,000 cottages, is already 99 percent booked in Padstow, Cornwall for peak season. Sales were at ten times the level they were at this time last year and 20 per cent up on week on week. Some agencies have had to create a waiting list because of demand while others are paying as much as £500 more than the asking price to secure a property that has already been let out.
