Ameer Ali Mydin says if banks which were still making enormous profits refused to help, then the government must instruct them to do so.
Ameer, who is an adviser to a loose group of 131 business associations called “Business Survival Group”, said loan moratoriums for the three sectors should be automatic. “It’s not just the difficulty in getting a moratorium, businesses in these sectors are also telling us that banks are reducing their facilities and increasing their spread from 1.5% to 2%.
