ICYMI: A cannabis company CEO is suing the federal government over the decision to 'incarcerate' travellers. — via TheGrowthOp

Colvin is afraid that if he were to fly back to Canada within the next few weeks, he’ll be forced by the government to quarantine in a hotel instead of at home because he says he’s not sure he’ll satisfy the governments’ unclear definition of a “suitable quarantine plan.”

“Mr. Colvin is quite comfortably ensconced in a house on Saint Martin with access to a beach every day. So he doesn’t want to leave Saint Martin to come back and face arbitrary incarceration measures that have been promulgated by a government that clearly doesn’t know what it’s doing,” Rath said. But even if the mandatory three-day quarantine rule isn’t yet officially in effect, Colvin is asking the federal court to strike it down in advance because he argues that the government is already forcing some people without quarantine plans or recent negative COVID-19 tests into supervised federal sites.Article content

TheGrowthOp What a joke! “Colvin flew to his home on Saint Martin on Jan. 24, 2021, at a time when a government travel advisory strongly discouraged any non-essential travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic.” entitled selfish

TheGrowthOp Stay in your lane.

TheGrowthOp Travellers are free to travel, but every one of them is a potential 'Trojan Horse' with respect to the pandemic, and Canada has every right to protect its citizens from a killer virus, so get over it.

TheGrowthOp Other countries are doing better than Canada and they don’t have all these stupid travel rules .

TheGrowthOp Quarantine Act

TheGrowthOp So many armchair quarterbacks!🤦‍♀️Luckily, it's up to the judiciary & not the uninformed public, to conduct an objective analysis of the reasonableness of the govt's limitation of travelers s.7 & 9 Charter rights, which apply to everyone, rich incl. 'objective' being the threshold.

TheGrowthOp Hey CEO GFY !

TheGrowthOp I am pleased someone is fighting for Canadian freedom, which the Fed have so easily taken away. At the same time, I do support quarantines in the safety of ones own home and not incarceration in an undisclosed location, guarded by untrained security.

TheGrowthOp

TheGrowthOp The government’s argument will be that it was always totally voluntary, they just made it look like it was mandatory because we’re ruled by absolute moral cowards.

TheGrowthOp You can just as easily quarantine in your home at no cost. Hope he wins the case.

TheGrowthOp He should cut back from using so much of his product

TheGrowthOp Wow cause he is better then everyone else stfu

TheGrowthOp Another marketing stunt along the lines of the Toronto BBQ slime & MyPillo. Don't givevyhe slime air time

TheGrowthOp They have the money to do it. Whatever it takes to start hauling the government into court and challenging their year long infringement on Charter rights.

TheGrowthOp OF COURSE this story has a Kelowna angle.

TheGrowthOp Is he high?

TheGrowthOp He must be saving the best sh*t for himself.
