It is okay. Traveling via Doha still creates a bottleneck. I thought the idea was to restrict excess travellers to make quarantine manageable, not to wholesale stop every entry.

Well if that is the case stop that loophole as well. Frankly ALL international travel in needs to be put on hold until vaccinations have reached desired level. Stopping and starting the economy when a breach occurs does no one any good. It is rank short termism.

So clever, not.

But cricketers aren't 'people'.

Of course it’s possible. I am surprised this govt does not understand it. They should stop all flights from every country. We’ve worked hard going through lockdowns, losing jobs...all to protect the nation. Do not put this country at risk now. Stop all flights.

I’m not surprised. Also what about via Singapore? I know quite a few people who’ve managed to fly into Australia during covid. All just had to do 2 weeks hotel quarantine. One has to do additional 2 weeks home quarantine as she flew from Sydney to Perth. Seems easy for some. $?

Everything can be bought in India. One repatriation flight turned away 20 out of 200 pax for having positive covid tests. Upon arrival in Oz further 56 were identified as having covid despite presenting with clear test results in india. Apparently they were infected on the plane.
