Prime Minister Scott Morrison has confirmed the India travel ban will be ending on May 15 but flagged no changes would be made to the "biosecurity orders" in the interim. Mr Morrison said the travel ban worked to get the number of infections in the Howard Springs quarantine facility to “more manageable levels” and will be at a level which allows the restarting of flights.
Mr Morrison also said the controversial Biosecurity Act which made it illegal for Australian citizens to enter the country for the first time in Australia’s history “has been highly effective” but will not be changed before they end on May 15.
ScottMorrisonMP
ScottMorrisonMP This is atrocious. It is too little to late. The Prime Minister WILL BE REMEMBERED AT THE NEXT ELECTIONS. I can’t be the only person in Australia who wants politicians with the ability to look out of the square and find viable solutions NOT JUST THE QUICK RESPONSES.
ScottMorrisonMP These people had a year to come “home”.
ScottMorrisonMP Pointless 2 second ban and 2 seconds of threatening jail, what is clear is this wasnt about whats best for the country, its about avoiding backlash from voters, the coalition has shown their hand, fear of losing government will always guide their decision, very dangerous for us.
ScottMorrisonMP Is this applies to temporary residents/international students? Or just for Australian citizens?
ScottMorrisonMP Weak and sneaky.
