PETALING JAYA: A 65-year-old man was detained for posing as a police officer in a bid to secure an interstate travel permit.

The man had gone to the Petaling Jaya police station at about 9pm on Friday and claimed to be an Assistant Commissioner of Police with a Datuk title.

Kuala Lumpur police meanwhile said they received positive and negative feedback over the implementation of the nine roadblocks in the city especially on the Federal Highway. Comm Azmi said on Saturday, many road users told the police that they were returning home from work or were going to pick up their kids.“Nevertheless I am glad that my men have used their discretion wisely by letting people through if they are satisfied with the explanations, ” he said

He said apart from not having an interstate permit, there were also a handful of road users who only produced the permit without verification of any police station.
