Opinion: The government has left universities out in the cold. The word “tourism” appeared 24 times in the list of new budget spending, while “university” appeared only once

the uni's got themselves into the mess by going all out to get (rich) o/s students at the expense of Australian students then, rewarding themselves with big fat pay rises and salaries for doing such a great job, now that it's all gone belly up they seem to think it's (1/2)

So they should ! Australian Uni's have highly paid management, aligned themselves with Chinese Confucius institutes, remain silent with leftist student unions who STOP freedom of speech in Uni's and bully non conforming students. SkyNewsAust SamanthaX_real RitaPanahi

Who cares about the greedy universities?

if people are allowed to return from India Nepal philippine or other high risk Covid areas, why can’t students from local risk areas come back to continue their studies

one benefit of having no international students is locals have more job opportunities which leads to lower unemployment rate, hence Canberra policies look more successful

mary_tambling63 It’s time for the media to call out the failings of the ScottMorrisonMP led LNP government, Australia cannot do another 3 years under this PM or this govt

bruce_haigh I saw that under 'Announcements'. Mates: $Squillions. Universities : $Nothing.

bruce_haigh Disgraceful, universities are bleeding at the moment. To make it worse, the cost of many degrees has risen substantially (some +28%) and international students are scarce. Now is when the government should be assisting universities.

bruce_haigh Dumbing down society.

If only this could have been avoided ! *Looks at newspaper that supports libs in 80% of elections*

Because Universities mass produce crazy woke lefties who feel like the whole world is against them after realising they just paid thousands of dollars for 'skills' and 'knowledge' nobody in the real world cares about.

That is because they don't believe in tertiary education, they never have. auspol2021 VoteThemOut
