Here's all you need to know at the moment about Europe's favourite holiday destinations;

Since the reopening of international travel for non-essential purposes on July 19, many Irish tourists have travelled abroad to some of Irelands most popular holiday destinations.

Spain is currently a huge hotspot for Covid-19 infection, including parts of the Canary Islands, with the Beta variant rampant in holiday areas. On weekdays bars and restaurants had a curfew of 10:30 pm, but on weekends had to be shut by 3:30 pm, encouraging some Irish holidaymakers to opt for different destinations this year.

Then, from September - as the summer season winds to a close - face masks will no longer be mandatory outdoors and premises holding public events can increase the number of attendees to 75% of capacity, up from 65%. As of July 30, the Covid-19 14-day incidence rate in Greece's is only slightly higher than Ireland at 346.22.
