Australians who live overseas will no longer be granted automatic permission to leave the country. 9News

Australians who live overseas will no longer be granted automatic permission to leave the country, in the latest Morrison government effort to curtail international travel.

It's unclear how difficult it will be for Australians who normally live overseas to be granted an exemption beyond that date. David Aaron, a semi-retired former Sydneysider splitting his time between the north of Portugal and the Philippines, said he understood that argument but insisted it was a problem of the government's own making, thanks to its "mishandling" of the pandemic.

1 more reason for the world to hate Australia and their australian politics. ScottMorrisonMP

Before lockdown in india I usually thought india government is useless and out of mind....but after covid my thoughts are changing now I think Australian government is more unusable as compared to Indian government they are more selfish they are playing with thousands of students

Just another lie for the foolish readers 🤣

These fools still trying to put the blame on international travellers for there lack of knowledge towards COVID.there vaccination roll out is nothing short of disgraceful.the rest of the world has moved on and this government is still clueless

Good

‘While many countries have imposed strict entry restrictions during the pandemic, Australia is the only one to ban its citizens from leaving’

Only 5 lockdowns and a year late. border security level expert’s. An absolute rort. People staying one day in quarantine. And leaving again just to tick boxes I hear. Airports are a covid highway unmanned. Should ba able to leave. But no return until under control.

What kind of country doesn’t let people leave?

Unless, that is, if you are a celebrity or a millionaire. Then you can enter and exit the country anytime

Disgraceful

Asher_Wolf Joe Hockey and Tony Abbott excluded.

But mah freedums!!

What dogs.. all freedom now gone!

Asher_Wolf Come on, now! They’ll be fine as long as they’ve got the money. We all know how this operates.

It sounds draconian, the problem is those who lie & take advantage, example duel national states she needs to travel to support her son for health reasons, it was his wedding, held illegally in the midst of Covid, she & many guests tested positive, her 2nd trip since borders closed.

Unless you are getting the top OECD job or going on an LNP junket for the family tree or to disappear to Hawaii during bushfires or the head of hillsong or if you have a private jet, I wonder why ScottMorrisonMP has told the ABS to stop publishing returning Aussie numbers

Meanwhile US, UK & EU are ~70% and back to normality and travelling everywhere....but sleepy conservative Australia is still stuck in the barriers while all the others have long gone...

What if I'm Hillsong, will that get me a get out of gaol free pass.

Wow Australia is on level with North Korea ⚠️😵‍💫⚠️
