AstraZeneca has become a household name, but its COVID-19 vaccine will soon be rebranded to help smooth the pathway for millions of Australians hoping to travel overseas once the international border reopens. The AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in Australia will be renamed Vaxzevria to bring it into line with its overseas name
A technicality also means the Australian-made version is not approved in Europe, because Australian manufacturer CSL doesn't operate there In Australia, the AstraZeneca vaccine being made by biotechnology company CSL is still going by its old name, causing some confusion and creating concern it could be seen as different to the same vaccine being made overseas.
“What’s in a name”
Now we can't trust the Label
AZ is a house hold name for all the wrong reasons so it is a worthy cause to rename it and for us dumb Aussies to eventually forget about AZ and to just think that this ‘Vaxzevria’ must be a new vaccine on the market. Well negotiated Scotty from marketing.
Anyone else had the same thought?
AstraZeneca made in EU wasn't even approved in US. So, how CSL vaccine will be approved in US. Australian vaccinated with AZ will be unable to travel to US any way. This is a big government mistake .
Name change won't change the fact that it will cause no blood clots
Oh goody more confusing messaging
Only name changed?
