Blinken was addressing the question of whether there was any hope that any remaining Americans and some allies of the United States still within Afghanistan — particularly those who helped the U.S. during the 20 years American forces have been in the country — would have a chance to leave the country if they can’t get to the airport in Kabul by Aug. 31, when the ongoing international evacuation is supposed to end.
“The Taliban have a strong interest in having an airport that functions, the Afghan people have a strong interest in an airport that functions, the entire international community has that interest.”
Of course not, they have opium to export...Economics
It’s about time to get your act together Mr Blinken!
Blinken is mistaken
Who did the us evacuated, 5000 us citizens and 7000 siv Applicants, who were those 90000 evacuees, they left their real allies behind what a shame, more 50000 siv Applicants are still left behind.
C’mon Biden.
Well as long as that's what he expects.
Of course they won't. The US is holding $10 billion in Afghan funds hostage. The World Bank is withholding aid. Without that $ the country will collapse into itself financially in a matter of months. The Taliban has no choice but to play ball.
😒
Not part of the PutinsPuppet/mikepompeo surrender agreement?
Oh yeah we can trust Blinken.
They are really really slow-minded..
Keep expecting.
Why would we believe anything the Taliban would say?
