European Union reimposes travel restrictions on US tourists as COVID cases skyrocket in America

US was removed from EU's safe list of nations for nonessential travel along with Kosovo, Israel, Montenegro, Lebanon and North Macedonia. In June, EU recommended to its member nations to lift curbs on US travelers ahead of summer tourism season. Threshold for being on the EU list is having not more than 75 new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over the last 14 days.
