South Australia will lift all restrictions on people travelling from Katherine in the Northern Territory, and the 11 local government areas in South East Queensland.People from Katherine, NT, and 11 LGAs in South East Queensland will be able to travel into SA freely from todaySA authorities said there were long-enough infection-free periods in the affected communities to ease border rules
People arriving from those regions had been required to undertake COVID-19 tests and self-isolate until returning a negative result. The changes now mean there are no restrictions in place for travel to South Australia from the Northern Territory or Queensland, although people coming into SA are still required to complete a cross border travel registration form.
The decision to ease border restrictions was made after South Australia's Transition Committee met this morning. There had been "sufficient days of infection-free periods in their community", Police Commissioner Grant Stevens said.
