PETALING JAYA: A total of 21,207,610 individuals or 89.7% of the adult population in the country have completed their Covid-19 vaccination as of Saturday (Oct 9), just 0.3 percentage points shy of the targeted 90% vaccination goal.

According to figures put out by the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply on its Twitter account on Sunday , 94.7% or 24,424,885 individuals of the adult population have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

A total of 141,897 doses of the vaccine were dispensed on Saturday with 39,183 as first dose and 102,714 as second dose, bringing the total number of doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 45,521,196. The government had said that the interstate travel ban would be lifted once 90% of the adult population had been vaccinated.

On Oct 8, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob also said that the permission on interstate travel will be enforced simultaneously nationwide when the vaccination rate of the adult population had reached 90% and would be announced in a few days’ time.

Interstate travel... now that i can, i dont want to.

That's the adult population covered (hopefully inclusive of foreign workers & migrants?). Next up - those in the 12 to 15 & 16 to 18 years old categories. Don't lose the momentum now!! DGHisham Khairykj IsmailSabri60 JKJAVMY KKMPutrajaya
