The tough stance comes after Prime Minister Scott Morrison today said unvaccinated tennis players, or those who were not jabbed with a TGA-approved vaccine, could apply for an exemption to enter the country.

But the premier today shut down any scope for the Victorian Government to seek exemptions for unvaccinated international tennis players."I'm not going to be facilitating them coming here when they don't need to come.Mr Morrison told Today if unvaccinated tennis players were granted exemptions, they would need to follow state health rules andScott Morrison said there needed to be flexibility for unvaccinated people entering Australia.

"It is nice to have clear and hard and fast rules, but there needs to be a little bit of flexibility so we can live with the virus," he said."We talk about large numbers of people, obviously there is a smaller number of actual players." Tennis superstar and nine-time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic has previously spoken of his anti-vaccination views but has declined to publicly reveal his COVID-19 vaccination status.
