Navy veteran Dana Zzyym became the first American to be issued a U.S. passport with an ‘X’ gender marker, designed to give non-binary, intersex and gender nonconforming people a designation other than male or female

WASHINGTON, Oct 27 - The U.S. State Department said on Wednesday it had issued the first American passport with an "X" gender marker, designed to give nonbinary, intersex and gender-nonconforming people a marker other than male or female on their travel document, according to a statement.

State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in a statement that the United States was moving toward adding the "X" gender marker as an option for those applying for U.S. passports or Consular Reports of Birth Abroad. Zzyym, who uses gender-neutral pronouns "they," "them" and "their," was born with ambiguous sex characteristics. Lambda Legal said in the statement that Zzyym underwent several "irreversible, painful, and medically unnecessary surgeries" after their parents decided to raise them as a boy.

Zzyym's previous applications for a passport were denied as they required the applicant to select either "male" or "female" as a gender marker.

Le Président des 🇺🇸 prête serment sur la Bible mais ce pays n’a visiblement pas lu la Genèse 1, 26-28, ou tout simplement oubliée.

I’m incredibly offended and feel abandoned by the Biden government as a person that identifies as the letter ‘N’. Is this a sign of ‘X’ supremacy?

Kinda makes the discovery of fire, the invention of the wheel and math seem insignificant does it not? The word groundbreaking means so much more today than at any other point in history because of this X!

The gender on the passport is a person's biological sex, a person should be born male or female, not X. Their ambiguous gender identity does not conflict with their biological sex and there is no need to state it on their passports (oh, maybe id cards soon)

Why not 'Y' gender or 'Z' gender?

The world is totally fucked up by those animals There are only two genders, EVEN ANIMALS DON'T DO WHAT ARE YOU DOING stop_destroying_humanity LGBTQ_ARE_ANIMALS

what madness !!! Lord, come quickly ...

which bathroom does it walk into. t

Then put an X in everything. Name. Age. Address. Place of birth. Eye color. Height. If information isn’t important then it isn’t important.

I'm a guy, he, him, that grew up late 80's -90's, you know, I am very prone to accidentally offend someone these days?, is there a book or something I can read to get educated in all this newer generation stuff?

Good for the intersex people. The rest, why bother? No one can force the world outside US to accept it

So?

Makes me sick.
