Qantas is focused on returning confidence to the travel sector and normalising what travel looks like in a world living with COVID-19, as it continues to stare down rising case numbers and growing uncertainty among its customers.
“We obviously have to get our customers feeling really confident to book and confident to fly and that we’re going to manage the safety aspects well,” Ms Tully said.Qantas has sought to stay close to its customers throughout the pandemic, actively conducting research to find out what its customers need when they return to travel.
Qantas is also prepared to help Australians navigate the increasingly complex world of international travel, seeing it as an opportunity to increase its share of customer preference over its rivals.“There are new things you need to do, some countries require tests, Qantas has a vaccination policy, you need to be double-vaxxed to get on an international flight,” Ms Tully said.
“It’s not even about making sure people want to fly Qantas, it’s about shifting the mood of the nation in the right direction, and we take that really seriously,” she said.
