Tourism sector calls for more vaccinated travel lanes

While businesses in tourist traps have noticed an uptick in trade, tourism chiefs say, tour companies are suffering because Malaysians have no need for them. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, February 6, 2022.

THE tourism sector can only recover if the government can open more vaccinated travel lanes with other countries in the absence of unrestricted international travel, industry players said. Domestic tour packages have not sold well because consumers prefer to make their own holiday arrangements and use their own transport.
