In the report staff note that they are not recommending a “full return to the pre-COVID situation in the shelter system,” which allowed for beds to be separated by less than a metre. They should stop taxing so much to ppl who make under 40-50 a year, give them a chance to afford their housing & rising food costs. We should address pain management to allow ppl to get proper treatment with opiates if needed rather than street drugs. More Ohip therapists too.
I hope they realize that the shelter system is fucked, the food bank system sucks, Toronto isn’t doing well & a lot can’t afford housing. Drowning in debt and to deal with all the stress ppl have outlets in booze, substance or gambling. More sex workers/human traffic than ever.
