A brush fire is burning south of Phoenix on the I-17, and it's shutting down travel in the southbound lanes as crews work to contain the fire.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said southbound I-17 lanes at milepost 252 were closed and by 3:15 p.m., lanes reopened but still experienced heavy delays. At a point, the delay was 11 miles long.
