If far-flung adventures are more on the cards, then look no further than the Maldivian island of Soneva Fushi. The Den is a children’s club of dreams, featuring a pirate-ship playground, an outdoor cinema, an ice-cream parlour, a Willy Wonka-esque chocolate shop – not to mention, there is a sizeable playroom filled with games and toys that easily dispels any worry about having to pack activities to keep boredom at bay.
As you might also expect, the resort is a water baby’s dream, with snorkelling or diving with the resident marine biologists on the local reef, dolphin safaris and a giant waterslide that it’ll be hard to pull the children away from. It is also home to the Maldives’s largest telescope, with an observatory where children can stargaze with an astronomer. Education, too, holds importance, with tutors available to help with revision or school-holiday projects.
