Arizona Travel ID will be mandatory starting May 2023 abc15

Beginning on May 3, 2023, you will need a federally compliant ID in order to get through TSA checkpoints at airports for domestic flights, the Arizona Department of Transportation says.

“Without the Arizona Travel ID or other form of federally-compliant identification such as a valid U.S. Passport, fliers risk missing an airline flight because the standard driver license will not be accepted at TSA checkpoints,” ADOT says. You can walk in to get a Travel ID, but ADOT suggests making an appointment first.

You’ll need to bring proof of identity , social security number, and two documents providing your residency at your current address.RELATED: Arizonans can start adding IDs to virtual Apple Wallet

Appears to be time to move out of this state. SMH….

As others have mentioned already, you don't need it if you have a passport. I wouldn't pay extra money if it's not necessary.

Because our R legislature wants to make an anti-govt point, at the expense and inconvenience of its citizens. The cattle and hat trumpies either don’t fly, have their own private planes or just don’t care. Every R in AZ should be removed from office.

If only you could make a fucking appointment on the Adot website

I'm pretty sure that is just a standard driver license

Another way for ADOT to make more money off of us. SMH

VOTER I.D. would be nice. No more bus loads of SoCalians coming here voting 6 or 7 times.

This does nothing to enhance security. I had to show my old standard driver license to get a copy of my birth certificate and then used that same birth certificate to get my Real ID. Stupid…

I have one but are passport cards ok?

So that means illegals need it to enter and travel too right? Why do we restrict our own people more than we do people breaking our own laws

It's sad when you can go to most foreign countries easier than traveling to Arizona. I thought one of the ideas of having a UNITED States was so as citizens we could travel freely between without the need for special ID. Silly me!

Blah, blah been hearing the same thing since 2002

If they do this they will be impeding your right to travel a violation of your constitutional rights this is illegal.

I have a passport ID card, it works just fine

It will be mandatory if you accept their offer for this new ID that’s connected to your medical records. Traveling is a God given right. Stop letting the enemy dictate what you’re going to do.

WHY NOT TODAY ... its Federal IDENTIFICATION since 2005, in affect 2013 in Arizona but voting IDENTIFICATION solved in Federal ballot elections If you turn over your Driver's license where it says NOT FOR FEDERAL IDENTIFICATION when by law since 2013 was for a reason

Wow. Jelani Sample is approaching 50 years old.

Just like WWII Germany? Thanks for nothing!

Will it be as loosely enforced as mandatory auto insurance?

Its not for driving in your car or anything...planes and trains....

I can only imagine what these will cost. I still have the old one, I really did not want to get the new ugly DL any time soon.

I think another group in history required you carry an ID, I believe it was the Nazi party that did this.

I'm 99% sure ADOT said it was required sometime in 2020? Did it keep getting pushed out

Is an enhanced license the same. I’m in New York State paid 95 for enhanced license to get into Canada I’m not getting a tsa one too

More government bullshit

Soo having a plastic card is suppose to stop a terrrost or “the bad guy” from boarding a plane? Then we have to renew the damn thing every 7 to 8 years with a fee. It’s another tax. 9/11 Commission recommendations not relevant anymore.

I love how the government makes us get this new ID but allows us the privilege of also paying for it. travelID mandated
