KOTA KINABALU: 'Craze Below The Wind', a movie shot in Sabah, hits cinemas this Thursday (May 26) and is expected to pave the way for more film production in the state.

The cast of Craze Below The Wind, a film shot in Sabah, during the movie premiere at a cinema in Kota Kinabalu on Tuesday night .

Sabah Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai said at the movie's premiere here on Tuesday night that such films would be able to promote Sabah as a preferred destination, attracting more tourists. "This movie will go a long way towards attracting visitors here, hopefully not only domestic but also international travellers."So I hope more will follow suit and make movies in Sabah," he said on the film, which has dialogue in Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and English and also includes some native phrases.Directed by Katak Chua, its cast includes Tian Long, Daphne Low, Gadrick Chin, Charles Wong and Carol Tan.

Producer Chester Pang said the movie will be screened in 47 cinemas nationwide, and they are working on getting it screened in Brunei as well."We are looking at streaming services as well, we approached Netflix but they suggested after the theatrical run," he added.
