A report presented to the eThekwini Municipality Executive Committee yesterday requested funds for the city to partner with the organisers of eight events that will be hosted in Durban between July and December 2022.
She said it was time for the city to cut down on unnecessary expenditure and events and prioritise its efforts and funds towards service delivery. Thabane Miya, Economic Freedom Fighter’s exco member, said the party supported approving the funding but would like to see more diverse events in future. Miya said he cannot remember the city supporting Bhangra or rave rock music.
